Doi Inthanon & Elephant Camp 2-Day Tour
Depart from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. and head directly to the Elephant Discovery Camp. Upon arrival, change into the traditional Mahout outfit (known locally as Kuanchang), and begin your adventure with a short bamboo rafting trip of about 20 minutes.
Continue to a nearby elephant camp, where you’ll have the opportunity to feed and interact with the elephants. We’ll first prepare baskets filled with bananas and sugar cane, then learn how to safely approach these gentle giants and offer them food, including their special vitamin balls made from local herbs.
You’ll also enjoy walking alongside the elephants to the river, observing their behavior and how they seek permission to enter the forest. Once at the river, help bathe the elephants and have fun splashing and playing with them in the water.
After returning to the camp, enjoy a traditional lunch before continuing your journey. On the way, stop at a Karen village to pick up fresh local ingredients for your evening meal.
Drive onward to Doi Inthanon National Park, and begin a 2-hour trek along the Phadokseaw Trail, passing beautiful waterfalls and ending at a Karen hill tribe village where coffee plants grow around local homes. There, you’ll cook dinner with your host family and spend the night in a traditional homestay.
